NIR Technology
T-Scanner: real-time grain quality
NIR probe for automatic grain quality monitoring on trucks and railcars.
T-Scanner turns the probing process into a high-value source of information. As the probe enters and exits the load, the system performs a continuous spectral scan of the grain column, delivering quality data by section, by pass and for the entire truck.
Patented technology
An exclusive Jorgensen innovation — the only one of its kind in the world.
WHAT IT IS
Automatic NIR technology integrated into the probe
T-Scanner is a patented, automatic NIR system exclusive to Jorgensen, integrated into the probe. It enables real-time monitoring of grain quality on trucks and railcars, with no direct contact with the grain, no chemical reagents and no interference with the normal probing process. No other company in the world offers this technology.
HOW IT WORKS
The step-by-step process
Video of the continuous NIR scan performed by the T-Scanner probe over the grain column.
- 01
Truck arrival
The truck enters the probing lane. The operator starts the process and enters the waybill, optionally via barcode scanner or manual entry.
- 02
Probe descent
The T-Scanner probe is inserted into the grain load.
- 03
Automatic sample detection
A proximity sensor detects the presence of the sample covering the measurement window and automatically starts spectral acquisition.
- 04
Continuous scanning
Scanning stays active throughout the probe's downward and upward travel, covering the entire grain column.
- 05
Per-probing information
At the end of a probing pass, the system reports the averages per measured parameter, for the upper, middle and lower sections, and for the total pass.
- 06
Repetition across all passes
The system records every measurement by section and by pass until the operator closes out the truck.
- 07
Truck closeout
When the truck is finished, overall averages are shown per parameter, per section and per total truck.

PARAMETERS
What it can help control
Moisture
Protein
Fat content
Other parameters
Available parameters may vary depending on the grain, calibration and system configuration.
REAL-TIME VISUALIZATION
Results by level, by pass and by truck
The operator's touchscreen shows the averages for each parameter as the probing pass progresses, with detail by upper, middle and lower section, sample status and a measurement history.
BENEFITS
For plants, storage facilities and terminals
Speed during harvest season
Enables processing quality information during normal receiving operations.
Greater representativeness
The system scans the full column and every probing pass, offering a broader view than a single spot sample.
Hotspot detection
Helps detect heterogeneity, moisture hotspots or quality that doesn't match agreed terms.
Traceability
Links the quality measurement to the waybill and the origin of the load.
Real-time classification
Helps decide which silo to send each load to based on quality bands.
Historical data
Generates records and statistics useful for analysis, planning and decision-making.
Operational safety
Reduces manual handling and allows working with information from the console.
Commercial optimization
Enables better-informed planning of purchases, sales, storage and production.
INTEGRATED TECHNOLOGY
Modularized NIR spectrometry
NIR spectrometric technology is modularized and integrated into the Jorgensen automatic probing system. The optical sensor is assembled at the lower end of the probe, communication between sensor and console runs over the CAN protocol, and the NIR energy signal travels through special optical fiber. The central command console is installed next to the operator and features a touchscreen to start, log and close out trucks or railcars.

INFORMATION AS A STRATEGIC ASSET
It doesn't just measure: it turns receiving into data
T-Scanner doesn't just measure: it turns grain receiving into a data source. The information obtained makes it possible to build regional quality maps, improve traceability, plan storage, forecast purchases and sales, optimize production and increase safety in raw material classification.

PATENTED INNOVATION
The only technology of its kind in the world
T-Scanner is a patented innovation exclusive to Jorgensen — no other company in the world holds this technology. It is an Argentine development resulting from the partnership between TecnoCientífica S.A. and Ingeniero Jorgensen SRL. It holds a granted US patent, with international protection in progress.
